Our “Team Strength Class” is an atmosphere like no other. The training sessions are geared towards functional strength (the strength you need to carry out daily activities such as climbing stairs, gardening, lifting something heavy off of the ground, and even taking a meal out of the oven). Strength training builds and tones muscle tissue which helps raise metabolism and turns us into fat burning machines. These sessions are not your Dad’s “bench press and bicep curl” routines. The energy is high, the music is pumping and the classes are FUN! We coach you how to perform different variations of squats, lunges, deadlifts for the lower body strength and presses and pulls for the upper body. We also do a ton of core training. We utilize a range of training equipment including kettlebells, resistance bands, and medicine balls, battling ropes, step platforms, and slide boards in order to get this accomplished. Our workouts are written purposefully with safety and effectiveness as a priority. Our coaches are skilled and armed with progressions and regressions to enable any fitness level to participate. We also include mobility work into the training sessions to ensure that you can perform each exercise appropriately and prevent injury. We offer 7 functional strength classes per day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and they’re filled with encouraging and supportive clients.
Metabolic conditioning classes are all about getting your heart rate up! In other words, they kick your butt and get make you sweat! We do not lift weights during these classes. Instead, we use equipment like boxes, ladders, jump ropes, rowing machines, sleds, battling ropes and 3 different types of medicine balls. You’ll get 55 minutes of calorie burning fun in these classes. We start every class with self-myofascial release techniques utilizing foam rollers, massage sticks, or lacrosse balls. Self-myofascial release is important because it improves flexibility and gets you ready for the demand of the training and assists in reducing injury risk. We offer seven Metabolic Condition classes every Tuesday and Thursday, and two sessions on Saturday morning that really rock!!
